US-based aerospace and defence technology company Northrop Grumman has reported a 6% increase in sales in the first quarter of the year. The figure increased from $8.6bn to $9.2bn on a year-on-year basis. The increase was attributed to the increase in sales at the Space Systems, Mission Systems and Aeronautics Systems segments, but the Defence Systems segment recorded a 17% drop in sales, primarily due to the impact of the company’s IT services divestiture. ....
The 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment (5-4 ADA), 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command, is the first unit in the Army to receive the Mobile Short Range Air Defense (M-SHORAD) system. The M-SHORAD integrates existing guns, missiles, rockets and sensors onto a Stryker A1 vehicle. Brian Beachkofski, commander of Kessel Run. “Only a year after delivering stand-alone applications to support operations, we’ve fielded an MVP suite of nine applications connected by a common data layer for usability assessment and user feedback.” ....
Date Time NATO partners discuss command and control leading up to AK21 U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa hosted the first Command and Control Commanders’ Conference with the NATO Integrated Air and Missile Defence Center of Excellence at the NATO Missile Firing Installation conference center April 20-21, in Crete, Greece. The C2CC was created to provide a venue for commanders across the area of operations to collaborate, bringing their ideas, experiences and discussions to the table to get a big picture of what to expect during the upcoming USAFE-AFAFRICA-led exercise “The purpose of the conference was to bring the AK21 exercise participants’ unit commanders together to discuss air and missile defense topics of interest and concern,” said Bryan Vaughn, USAFE-AFAFRICA 603rd Air Operations Center air and missile defense planner. “And also to better prepare them for the execution of the exercise event.” ....
