Mysuru: Mysuru city will miss the usual Christmas and New Year Eve celebrations in clubs, pubs and restaurants among other places with the State Government banning special DJ dance and parties till Jan. 2, 2021.
However, there will be no restrictions on Xmas prayers tonight. All parties at clubs, pubs and restaurants must end at 11 pm from today and the same guidelines will be in force till the next day after New Year.
As with most festivals this year, Christmas too will be a low-key affair. “Midnight Christmas mass on 24th night shall be permitted as per guidelines issued on Dec. 17. Celebration of Christmas and New Year festivities shall be as per the guidelines,” the Government order stated. ....

Following the launch of 112 Helpline, a Pan India single number Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) for citizens in emergencies or crisis, the City Police this morning took out a Cycle Jatha on five different routes in city, in association with a host of organisations in order to create public awareness on the new Pan India Helpline number.
The rally was held as part of the City Police’s Crime Prevention Month with support from organisations such as Mysuru Cyclists Association, Trin Trin, Kreatement events, the Thought School, Columbia Asia Hospital, Red FM and University of Mysore (UoM). ....

Failing to keep up marriage promise: Woman SI lodges complaint against NR Sub-Inspector

Mysore/Mysuru: A woman Sub-Inspector (SI), alleging that the Sub-Inspector of
NR Police Station had cheated her after promising to marry her, has lodged a complaint at Vijayanagar Police Station on Dec. 9.
In her complaint, the woman SI has stated that the NR Sub-Inspector, after promising to marry had indulged in physical relationship with her but later refused to marry her and indulged in fights whenever she asked him to marry her besides issuing threats to her life.
She has also stated that she had information that the NR SI was already married and has urged for legal action against him. ....
