Scatman John John Paul Larkin (March 13, 1942 – December 3, 1999), better known by his stage name Scatman John, was an American music artist who created a fusion of scat singing and dance music, best known for his 1995 hits Scatman (Ski Ba Bop Ba Dop Bop) and Scatman s World and 1997 hit Everybody Jam! As a stutterer, Larkin stated that scatting was turning [his] biggest problem into [his] biggest asset. Scatman John sold millions of recordings worldwide and was named Best New Artist in the Echo Awards in both Japan and Germany. He was a recipient of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association s Annie Glenn Award for outstanding service to the stuttering community and National Stuttering Association Hall of Fame. ....
Man who dragged woman from Aberdeen street and raped her jailed Callum Duncan, 23, carried out the attack on Raeburn Place in March 2019. He was convicted following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, which heard he had not known the woman beforehand. Detective Inspector Lesley Clark of the North East public protection unit said: Callum Duncan subjected a young woman to a violent, unprovoked and terrifying ordeal. It is due to her bravery throughout the police investigation and subsequent legal proceedings that he will now face the consequences of his appalling actions. Hopefully the bravery shown by the victim will give other individuals who have suffered abuse the strength to come forward and report crimes of this nature. ....
Police in CCTV appeal over Aberdeen petrol station assault Police Scotland has released an image of a man to help assist them in their enquiries over an assault at a petrol station. They believe the man may be able to help them establish what happened at 3:25pm on Sunday April 25 following an assault at the Esso petrol station on Great Northern Road. The main is descirbed as white, short, average build and has short brown hair. He also had a Scottish accent and was wearing a green jacket at the time. Police Constable Susan Mair said : The incident caused serious alarm to the victim and I would urge the man or anyone who has any information relating to him to contact the police. ....
