A Wesleyan Methodist Church was built circa 1855 on the south-east corner of Lot 12, Concession 3, Ashfield Township. Rev. J.S. Evans was the first minister of record for the circuit, which also included Nile. Throughout the next decade, services were often conducted by students and lay persons.

In 1866, a building committee was appointed, and the Dungannon Mission Church was completed by 1868. A church in Nile was also completed at this time. The original Ashfield building and site were sold and the land re-deeded back to the original owner. ....

As our two children, Ted and Heather, were getting older, Sharon and I arrived in Devon in the fall of 2002 on a search for a smaller community to fully retire in. The opportunities and potential were obvious and what we had been looking for: recreational activities for myself and the opportunity for Sharon to engage with the United Church Women which had been a been a huge part of her life. After serving military service with the Royal Canadian Air Force we moved to Edmonton and then Sherwood Park while I served in the Edmonton Police until retiremen ....

Riko Nagu is a women’s and girls’ rights activist and member of the United Church Women’s Fellowship group. She participated in the Traditional Governance and Facilitation Bill consultations organized by the Inclusive Governance of Natural Resources Project in 2020. 
he Traditional Governance and Facilitation Bill was introduced by the Democratic Coalition for Change Government in 2017. The Bills and Legislative Committee’s (BLC) withdrew the Traditional Governance Bill due to the lack of consultations with the Solomon Islands Bar Association, Civil Society Organizations, Churches, women and youth in the country. A series of consultations are now being held by the IGNR Project, to raise awareness among these groups, and especially local leaders, women and youth. ....
