The nine, who are between the ages of 20 and 31, include two women.
They were held around 3am on Friday by officers of the Pt Fortin Municipal Police.
The officers, led by WPC Charles, were on patrol along the South Central Road when they had cause to stop three vehicles.
The vehicles were all driven by nationals of this country.
However, in the vehicles were Spanish speaking nationals.
No one was able to provide, upon request, documents indicating legal entry, and stay, and as a result, they were all detained.
The nine were taken to the Siparia Health Facility where they were medically examined by a doctor in keeping with COVID-19 protocols and detention orders obtained.
