Lights in Carriere to be turned on tonight Youngsters participating in one of the Carriere Nine Mornings games Social Share The village of Carriere will take on a festive look this Friday, December 18 when the Carriere Nine Mornings Committee turns on the lights in that community. The turning on of the lights will be done during a lighting ceremony which will take the form of a concert. The event will hear from guess speaker Pastor Ezra Cumberbatch of the Mesopotamia Kingdom Life Tabernacle, He will address the theme: Celebrating Christ our Fortress, in a pandemic Christmas. It is also expected to hear from area representative St Clair Prince, a member of the National Nine Mornings Committee and others. Performances will come from churches in the area, Hance John, and the Rose Hall Boom Drummers, among others. ....

By: Gloriah• Last Tuesday, December 15, the Nine Nights of Lights Organizing Committee turned on the lights at the Botanical Gardens, for the sixth year in a row. Amid fears of a coronavirus spread, a reasonable crowd of patrons flocked to the site to enjoy what was on offer. The opening ceremony heard remarks from a number of persons, who not only welcomed patrons but also put persons’ minds at ease that the activity was a safe one to attend, with health protocols having been established throughout the venue. St.Vincent and the Grenadines has recorded Two new cases of COVID-19 There are now 18 active cases of Covid 19 here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, after this country recorded two new case of the viral illness yesterday. The Health Services Committee of the National Emergency Committee says one case, a non-national, arrived with a negative PCR test result from the USA on December 7, 2020, tested negative on both entry screening and day 5 testing, and then tested positive on day eight (8) of quarantine. The other traveler arrived from the United Kingdom on December 12, 2020 with a negative PCR result and tested positive for COVID-19 on entry screening. The adult travelers were in mandatory quarantine and will be isolated until cleared by two negative tests. Contact tracing and testing have commenced. ....
