Jacks Shadow N successfully avenged last week s defeat to Whos Better at Harrah s Philadelphia with a 1:50.3 score in Sunday (April 18) afternoon s featured $14,400 top-level conditioned pace at the riverside racetrack. After mid-race traffic trouble left Jacks Shadow N an insurmountable task last week, driver Tim Tetrick opted to send the seven-year-old Shadow Play gelding immediately to the lead at race s outset, clearing Whos Better and Dexter Dunn through a :26.3 quarter. After rating a soft :29.3 second sectional, Jacks Shadow N was forced to accelerate up the backstretch when faced with mild first-over pressure from Dealers Table. Jacks Shadow easily turned aside his outside rival past three-quarters in 1:23.3, and kept Whos Better three-quarters of a length at bay at the winning post. Sent off as the 4-5 favourite, YS Tallia got away fifth in the compact group while Manhattan Night marched to the top and sliced out first-half fractions of :29.3 and 1:01. YS Tallia tipped to the outside on the way to the mid-way point, and she quickly got into gear for Coulter. She made a powerful brush to the top in the backstretch and swept past the three-quarter pole in 1:29.3 before using a :29.1 final frame to win by a half-length margin over I Wish You Well in 1:58.4.
