The call originally came in as a disturbance between two parties.
The incident prompted Iles Elementary School, Ball Charter School and Southeast High School to go on soft lockdown out of an abundance of caution about 2 p.m., said School District 186 spokeswoman Bree Hankins. At no point was there any direct threat to any of our schools, Hankins said.
The schools were on lockdown until around 2:15 p.m., she said.
No one was struck in the incident, said SPD Deputy Chief Joshua Stuenkel.
Earlier Wednesday, Sangamon County sheriff s deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of Forrest Avenue.
