Following the death of 77-year-old John Bamford in Wendover on April 6 this year, many in the community were left saddened and shocked. His passing opened a murder investigation which led to Courtney Bamford, 36, of Griffin Lane, Aylesbury, being charged. His sudden death in tragic circumstances has left a hole in what is a quiet village in the Chilterns, but for one man, the passing of John will hit like no other. Man arrested on suspicion of murder following death of pensioner, 77, in Buckinghamshire Sean Morrison A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of an elderly man in Buckinghamshire. Officers were called to an address in Aylesbury Road, Wendover, at around 5.25pm on Tuesday to reports of an assault. A 77-year-old man died at the scene after sustaining serious injuries, police said, adding a 36-year-old man was in custody. Thames Valley Police said those involved in the incident were known to each other.
