Pension firm unveils Irish transfer service for Sipps


It is available to individuals resident or employed in the UK
IPensions Group is expanding its offering for Irish expats to consolidate their Irish, UK or other overseas pension benefits into a self-invested personal pension (Sipp) with the launch of its Irish transfer service.
With the ability to transfer into IPensions’ Adviser Sipp or Platform Sipp products, the Irish transfer service is available to individuals who are resident or employed in the UK, or those who wish to transfer for other reasons acceptable to the Irish Revenue.
Consolidating existing pensions into a Sipp will help provide “flexibility on retirement planning” and can offer currency choices as well as access to wider investment options and discretionary fund managers, IPensions said. ....

Drugs worth more than €1m seized at Dublin Port

Drugs worth more than €1m have been seized at Dublin Port.
During a routine operation, Irish Revenue officers seized 55kg of herbal cannabis and 2kg of cannabis infused jelly sweets , with an estimated combined value of €1.2m (£1.4m).
Police say the drugs were discovered concealed in suitcases stored in the driver s cab of a commercial vehicle, which had disembarked a ferry from Holyhead.
An Irish man has been arrested.
Gardaí (Irish police) and revenue officers were assisted by detector dog James and Revenue s mobile X-ray scanner.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
