The Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley has announced a membership campaign to raise funds for its Irish heritage museum on Columbia Street in West Utica. While the museum currently hosts traveling exhibits on Irish music, work is underway for three permanent exhibits at the H.A.R.P. Museum an acronym for History, Ancestry, Research and Programs according to Alex Sisti, a board of directors and museum committee member for the Irish Cultural Center. The first will discuss the history of the building itself. With its pub and restaurant, Five Points Public House, located on the first floor and the museum on the second, the center was built by the Ancient Order of Hibernians at the site of the former St. Patrick s Church, Sisti said. The exhibit will include pictures and artifacts from the church, as well as document the groundbreaking of the the cultural center and the start of the Great American Irish Festival. ....
