IOWA PARK, Texas (TNN) - Over in Iowa Park, Wichita County 4-H and Southern Grit Advocacy are doing their part to help keep people safe.
A week from Monday, the two groups will discuss human trafficking and how you can protect your family from experiencing it.
“Texas is in the top three states where human trafficking occurs the most often,” said Katrena Mitchell, Wichita County 4-H Youth Development Agent for Texas A&M Agrilife Extension-Wichita County. “Through the educational efforts of Southern Grit Advocacy, our goal is to keep our community safer.” ....

What happened with cases from child predator sting?

Law-enforcement officers swept up 10 local men in a sting designed to catch online child predators in 2017.
Their cases have been winding through the criminal justice system since late September and early October of 2017 when they were arrested.
The Texas Department of Public Safety led the operation and was assisted by other agencies.
Court records indicate undercover male and female officers posed as minors online to help carry out the sting.
A sentencing hearing on Thursday drew the curtain back a little as to how the it operated.

Hooters to Host Car Show for Iowa Park Child Battling Leukemia

I love a car show, especially when all proceeds go toward a good cause.
Hooters of Wichita Falls is gearing up for its Hot & Spicy Car/Truck Show this Sunday, April 18. You’ll find Hooters at 3701 Call Field Road.
Registration will be happening from 1 – 3 pm, with the car and truck show happening immediately after from 3 – 6 pm.
