The Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, has dismissed an application filed by a suspected fraudster, Nelson Emuobosa 
Omo-Ode, challenging the ruling of the Special Offences Court, Ikeja, Lagos denying him bail.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Omo-Ode, a 34-year-old Business Administration graduate of the Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan College, Malaysia, was arrested on July 18, 2019 at his residence, Onikani Foreshore Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, following a petition received by the Commission about his suspicious lifestyle.
Investigations showed that over N150, 000,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira) had passed through his account in recent time, which he could not account for. ....

The abductors of the Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council in Rivers State, Phelemon Kingoli, Today demands a sum of One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (150M) for his freedom.
This development is coming five days after the Council Chairman, was abducted at gunpoint in bizarre circumstances along the sprawling Odili Road in the heart of the State capital, Port-Harcourt last Wednesday.
The Local Government Chairman who has been held incommunicado since he was abducted was said to be heading home after attending a stakeholders meeting of the Okrika Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter, where arrangements for the flag-off of local campaigns for the upcoming Local Government elections in the state were fine-tuned. ....

Falana Dismisses Renewed Allegation of Buying Seized Property

Lagos lawyer and former President of the West Africa Bar Association (WABA), Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), yesterday dismissed what he described as repackaged allegation that he bought an Abuja property allegedly recovered by the Pension Reform Taskforce for N1 billion in 2015.
The fiery lawyer, who insisted the allegation was merely being renewed after past attempts could not be substantiated, said in a statement that he had never bought any property from the federal government including the controversial property in Maitama, Abuja.
In the statement made available to THISDAY, Falana said, “My attention has just been drawn to the renewed version of the lie to the effect that the same property lying and being at 42, Gana Street, Maitama District, Abuja, allegedly recovered by the Pension Reform Task Force was valued at N6,000,000,000.00 (Six Billion Naira) but sold to me for N1,000,000,000.00 (One Billion Naira) sometime in 2015.” ....

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Femi Falana, Friday denied buying any property from the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
In a statement sent to Vanguard, Falana explained the incidents surrounding the said property.
Yesterday, a witness, Mr. Ngozika Ihuoma, while narrating before the Federal High Court in Abuja, how, EFCC, under its former Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, mismanaged 222 assets worth N1.63trillion, which he said was recovered by the defunct Pension Reform Taskforce Team, PRTT, opined that  “One of the properties in question located at No 42, Gana Street, Maitama, was illegally acquired by a renowned lawyer while the property was still subject to litigation,” the witness added, insisting that EFCC should be made to account for all the recovered assets. ....
