UN Police serving with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan have handed over a vehicle to South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS) in Wau, much to the satisfaction of citizens in the area.
“Police patrols in my village have been insufficient, so l’m happy to see that they have received an additional vehicle,” said Doreen Lisa, a 52-year-old farmer living near Wau. ....

Campaigning in East Timor s presidential election has deteriorated into violence as sporadic fighting broke out between gangs of youths from rival parties across the capital Dili.
Police fired tear gas and warning shots to break up spontaneous fights which erupted after a day of passionate campaigning in which thousands took to the streets in trucks and cars ahead of Monday s presidential poll.
Across Dili, witnesses reported numerous skirmishes and rock-throwing attacks which caused several injuries, including two UN police officers who were hurt during a clash near the Australian Embassy. ....
