JOHNSON CITY - After a tragically long 13 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Patricia Ann Quinn, 74, of Johnson City, Tennessee died Friday morning, May 7, 2021 at the Dominion Senior Living facility.
Pat was born November 7, 1946 in Waterbury, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Richard Jeremiah Hannifan and Lily Mae Aston. She fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a nurse when she graduated from the Mount Vernon School of Nursing in 1967. She married her hometown friend, Bruce Christopher Quinn, at McClellan Air Force Base in Sacramento, California on July 11, 1970. Her husband’s time as an Air Force officer and pilot took her to many places. She resided in California, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, and Japan. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, caring for the sick and injured. ....

Two Boone, North Carolina, Police Officers Shot During Standoff, Shooter Barricaded in Home

Two Watauga County Sheriff s deputies were shot Wednesday during an ongoing standoff situation in Boone, North Carolina, according to Watauga County Emergency Services.
Law enforcement personnel were conducting a welfare check when the deputies were shot. A statement from the Watauga County Sheriff s Office said one of the injured deputies was removed from the location while the other remains on the scene. The condition of each deputy is currently unknown.

Created in Fall 2018 by Assistant Undergraduate Chair and Clinical Assistant Professor Ann Marie Sailsman, D.N.P., M.P.H., the Population Health Student Ambassador Program provides the opportunity for eligible students to represent the College in a variety of settings through servant leadership, including community engagement, mentoring, participating in recruitment, open houses and campus tours. Nursing students are invited to join the program based on their performance in the Lifespan Context for Health of Diverse Individuals and Populations course, during which students participate in required service-learning activities in surrounding communities.
