Worcestershire s hotels, inns and boutiques are âexcitedâ to be back open IT’S BEEN A TOUGH YEAR for the hospitality industry, with hotel, inns and boutiques forced to close their doors since the start of the year. While some have been open for key workers and vulnerable people, other businesses haven’t been able to trade at all during lockdown. However, as of yesterday (17 May) that all changed as indoor hospitality was allowed to reopen to the general public once again. A spokesperson for The Worcester Whitehouse Hotel said they have received a large influx of bookings- especially at the weekends. ....

From May 17, indoor hospitality venues can re-open, providing a welcome relief to businesses whose efforts to provide outdoor service have suffered in the recent poor weather. Kathy Leather, who runs the Copperbeech House B&B in the town, said she is looking forward to welcoming back guests after a year like no other. She said: “No customers for nearly a year has left us anxious but optimistic about what the future will bring. ....
STAFF from hospitality businesses across the Malvern Hills say they are glad to be back after their first week since Covid restrictions eased. Since April 12, hospitality businesses have been allowed to open for outdoor dining, though a number of businesses in the town are remaining closed until May, when indoor dining is set to be allowed again. Stanbrook Abbey in Callow End has re-opened, putting up a large teepee in its grounds to allow groups to dine. General manager Gordon Burniston said it was great to be back welcoming customers again. He said: “Throughout the last week we have been delighted to see so many returning and new customers. Our expansive grounds and gardens are open for guests to enjoy when dining alfresco, but our outdoor spaces have been transformed in recent months to create far more of an experience for our diners. ....
Customers have returned to shops, salons and hospitality venues this week after the April 12 re-opening. Lucy Watkins, owner of Belle Beauty, said she and her staff were “over the moon” to see customers again. She said: “It has been wonderful to see customers returning and queues outside lots of the local businesses in Malvern. “The local support for us has been amazing and we want to say thank you to everyone that has shopped with us during closure and booked in over the next few months.” Another business re-opening was the Malvern Splash Leisure Centre, which welcomed back guests for the first time since a multi-million pound refurbishment. ....
