» Impaired boater arrested after reckless circling on Lake Whatcom

By Joe Teehan July 22, 2021 2:21 pm KGMI WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Whatcom County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Bellingham man for boating under the influence and other charges after he was spotted running in circles on Lake Whatcom early Saturday. Deputies say 48-year-old Peter Harrison was running fast, recklessly and without lights very close to docks and other boats in the area of Lake Whatcom Boulevard and Cable Street just afer midnight. A sheriff’s boat was eventually able to intervene and deputies found him surrounded by empty beer cans and slurring his words. They arrested him but he threatened the deputies and kicked one on the way back to shore.
