5-year-old boy drowns at Shawano County campground View Comments A 5-year-old boy found unresponsive Friday in the swimming area of a Shawano County campground was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. According to the Shawano County Sheriff s Office, a call came in at 8:23 p.m., reporting a possible drowning at Annie s Campground, W12505 Roosevelt Road in the Town of Seneca. Deputies and citizens performed CPR on a 5-year-old boy who had been found unresponsive at the campground swimming area.  Emergency medical services arrived and an ambulance transported the boy to Thedacare Shawano, where he was pronounced dead. 

Lake Michigan swim risk in Milwaukee set to be high Thursday, Friday

Swimmers in southeast Wisconsin should stay out of Lake Michigan on Thursday and Friday because of dangerous conditions in the forecast, the National Weather Service said. Life-threatening waves of 3 to 6 feet, strong winds and dangerous currents are expected, the weather service said in a statement. Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties have a high swim risk from Thursday afternoon through Friday evening. Stay out of the water and away from dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls, the weather service statement reads. Strong structural and longshore currents are expected. Rip currents are possible. Beachgoers should obey posted signs and closures, the weather service said.
