After battling breast cancer five years ago and going into remission, she was told last year it had returned and spread through her body. The paddling community has paid tribute to Atkinson following her passing, with Mooloolaba outrigger and women s coach Jenny Rasmussen sharing plenty of fond memories. Eumundi Brewery s Chris Sheehan said crowds were well spirited and pumped during the event. We re very fortunate to have a festival of this calibre here in our backyard, he said. It s a chance for people to try some different beers that they haven t tried before. Aussies are a little predictable in what they like and are a little bit traditional. The beer world is huge now so it s an opportunity for people to try it all, try some local beers and beers from overseas you don t get to see.
