COLUMBUS JUNCTION A proposal to expand the amount of funding Columbus Junction currently provides to help finance the Louisa Development Group’s executive director position was presented Wednesday to the city council.
Mayor Mark Huston said he and council member Frank Best recently attended a meeting where the proposal was unveiled to them, Wapello city officials and other local leaders.
While the position already is funded through a partnership between the LDG; Louisa County; Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Louisa County; and the nine incorporated cities of Louisa County, Best said the new proposal called for Wapello and Columbus Junction to increase their financial support.
