IRCTC to restart e-catering at 62 stations from February 1 New Delhi, Howrah, Patna, Vijayawada and Ernakulam are among the stations where services will resume. January 30, 2021 / 12:14 PM IST The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will resume e-catering services at 62 stations from February 1 after keeping them suspended for several months following the coronavirus outbreak. The company will resume e-catering services at a selected number of stations (62 stations) in the first phase w.e.f. 1 February 2021 onwards, the ticketing and catering arm of the Indian Railways said in a statement. New Delhi, Howrah, Patna, Vijayawada and Ernakulam are among the stations on the list where the service will initially resume, Mint reported. ....
With the gradual resumption of passenger train services, and amidst the new normal, wherein IRCTC is serving only ‘Ready To Eat’ meals to passengers on trains, there has been an increased demand for the resumption of E-catering services. The company is starting the first phase of E-catering service from February 2021, wherein the service shall commence over 30 Railway Stations catering to approximately 250 trains. IRCTC is ensuring that all its E-catering partners ensure proper health and hygiene protocols while serving the meals to the passengers. The passengers shall avail of the services of E-Catering through www.ecatering.irctc.com. E-catering orders through the telephone is also being restored over 1323 shortly. ....
New Delhi [India], January 15 (ANI/SRV Media): Indian Railways has allowed the e-catering services to resume in the trains. They will now be permitted to resume functions depending upon the feasibility, availability of staff and local restrictions. Food delivery on trains will be permitted at select stations across the nation, subject to the service providers following the operation instructions issued by the local governing authorities. This announcement has come after Manish Chandra, CEO and Founder, RailRestro, had written to the Ministry of Railways and IRCTC officials to allow the e-catering services in the trains. RailRestro, an IRCTC-authorized e-catering wing, has received confirmation from the Ministry of Railways and is set to operate from the last week of January 2021. All the restaurant partners have been asked to ensure hygienic and contactless deliveries, said Kriti Raj, Public Relations Manager at RailRestro. ....
