The national lobby group representing independent Canadian businesses is predicting widespread permanent closures from the COVID-19 pandemic, even with vaccine rollouts in full swing, but its prairie region director says Saskatchewan has reason to be more optimistic.
“(It’s) doing better than most provinces across the country,” said Jonathan Alward of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). “I would say it’s doing the best from a small-business standpoint” compared to other provinces west of Atlantic Canada.
