The sit-ins of Southern lunch counters had been a year earlier. The first of the historic Alabama campaigns, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, ended in 1956, and the campaigns in Birmingham and Selma were two and four years away. Racism was entrenched, the walls of segregation still in place as the fight to root out and overcome these evils continued. But the fight wasn’t often publicized. (WSFA) - Authorities are looking for a 16-year-old who hasnât been seen in almost three months. A CrimeStoppers alert says Kelsey Johnson has been missing from Selma since mid-February. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says she left her home and never returned. Authorities say they donât know where she went but have reason to believe that she may be in the Montgomery area. Kelsey is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and around 115 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. ....
