Project Aims to Lessen Congestion on Idaho 75 in Ketchum
KETCHUM, Idaho (KLIX)-Idaho road managers want to reduce congestion on Idaho Highway 75 through the mountain resort community of Ketchum.
The Idaho Transportation Department is currently showing various design plans to the community through an online forum and discussion. An in-person meeting is scheduled on Thursday, June 17, at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Part of the problem is over the years growth and development has resulted in increased congestion on Idaho 75. The current online discussion will run from now until June 24 (Thursday) next week.

A Multnomah County judge has rejected a request from environmental groups to halt post-fire logging in the Santiam Canyon, but that doesn t mean controversy surrounding how Oregon manages the forests burned in the Labor Day fires is going away.  
Last Friday, circuit court judge Jerry Hodson ruled that the Oregon Department of Forestry could move forward with plans to harvest and remove hazard trees on 3,000 acres of fire-burned Santiam State Forest.  ....

Sun Valley carries momentum into 2021


For the city of Sun Valley and Sun Valley Resort, 2020 brought some glimpses of the future.
While the city reviewed plans for new development, the resort brought some of its plans to fruition, most notably a new high-speed quad chairlift on Bald Mountain that will serve an area of new skiing and snowboarding terrain called Sunrise. The unveiling of the project came against the backdrop of a notable accolade for Sun Valley, the designation by SKI magazine as the No. 1 ski resort in the West.

PennDOT wraps up 2020 construction season in northcentral PA


Montoursville, Pa. – As 2020 nears its end, PennDOT Engineering District 3-0 is wrapping up another busy construction season in northcentral Pennsylvania.
The nine-county district opened bids for 53 contracts totaling nearly $68.8 million in value. Of those contracts, 30 were for roadway work and 23 were for bridge work. 
More than 138 miles of paving and 246 miles of seal coating (tar and chip) were completed in the district in 2020.
Work was performed on 72 state-owned bridges by contractors or department forces.  This included the replacement or rehabilitation of 22 bridges, and preservation work on 50 bridges in good condition to extend the life of those bridges.  
This work included 11 small bridge projects and 2 bridge preservation projects completed by department force crews. The district has been able to stretch limited resources by using in-house capabilities such as paving and bridge crews to complete work. ....
