February 15, 2021 Beverly Lynn Corelle, 79, of Dewey Beach, beloved community leader and friend, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at her home Saturday, Feb. 6, 2021. She was born Dec. 3, 1941, in Salisbury, N.C., daughter of the late Ralphs and Louise (Dunn) Corelle. After graduating high school, Beverly earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and mathematics from Catawba College in Salisbury, where she was presented the Whitener Award, the highest honor given at graduation, and served as a leader and award recipient in many of her college organizations. She went on to receive a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville), and later a master’s degree in education administration from Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, Md.). Her heart was in teaching and she taught many years in the public high school system, Old Dominion University in Virginia and Virginia Wesleyan College. ....

Dave Davis will continue permanently in his role as budget and finance chair, which he assumed in the fall after former Chair Bill Stevens had to step down when he was elected commissioner in September.
