Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Patrick Cunningham, during a visit to the Community Food Pantry THE Mayor of Winchester was given an insight into the work of a community organisation helping people in the city. Cllr Patrick Cunningham was given a tour around the Community Food Pantry, set up in Unit 12, Winnall, which opened in January. During the visit last month manager Elaine Chapman and volunteers showcased the many aspects of its work from offering food to other essential supplies. Elaine said: “We are not just about food but helping people on a much wider level. We opened at the end of January and it has been consistent, it is normally 40 to 50 people that use it a week. ....
Children using the green in Woodman Close RESIDENTS have launched a fight against plans for more parking in their street, which they say will be dangerous. Neighbours in Woodman Close, Sparsholt, want Winchester City Council to do a U-turn on plans to pave over part of their communal green space to make way for 27 parking spaces. In November 2019, residents were consulted on a council proposal for affordable homes near the street. There was little objection to the houses, but concerns were raised about parking. In the months following ideas were presented for parking, these included 29 spaces around the green, 15 spaces in laybys or no change. ....

The work by local artist Hendog is was painted overnight at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. It shows a young child handing a bunch of flowers to an NHS keyworker.
