It will be the second in that part of town, after the Rinconito de Esperanza Historic District, which is evolving into an arts enclave off Guadalupe Street. The proposed Buena Vista Historic District, an eastbound corridor that cuts through the West Side, has immense historic value. It’s where refugees from the Mexican Revolution landed at the turn of the last century, changing the course of San Antonio’s destiny. It’s where working-class Mexican Americans began pursuing their American dreams, aspirations they achieved in second and third generations. ....
