KNBN NewsCenter1 January 17, 2021 UPDATE: (January 17, 6:30 p.m.): In a press release, the Lemmon Fire Department confirmed that as of 5:27 p.m. Sunday, January 17, the Lemmon fire is now at 100% containment. An estimated 15,000 – 20,000 acres are estimated to be burned. No fatalities were reported, however two firefighters were injured and treated. “The results of this fire could have been drastically different, but due to the training of local fire departments, assistance of other agencies and individuals, and the experience and leadership of the Incident Commander, the loss of property – while devastating – was contained to a minimum considering the circumstances. The amount of support has been simply overwhelming, as calls to assist have been received all over North and South Dakota. The Department thanks everyone that has stepped up to help in so many ways. We continue to think about and pray for those directly impacted by this horrible fire. Thank you on ....
