Premium Content Subscriber only An elderly woman had to be extricated from a vehicle after a two-car crash in Eli Waters on Friday. The crash happened about 10am at the intersection of Ibis Boulevard and the Maryborough-Hervey Bay Rd. A spokeswoman from Queensland Fire and Emergency Service said the jaws of life had to be used due to the woman s age and her difficulty getting out of the vehicle. The woman suffered minor injuries in the crash. A spokesman from the Queensland Police Service said one vehicle had been reported as having smoke coming from it. He said it had been a high impact crash. ....
Date Time Charges, dangerous driving, stolen vehicle Urraween and Dundowran Police have arrested and charged two teenage boys after an alleged stolen vehicle was crashed and abandoned at Dundowran earlier today. It will be alleged a vehicle was stolen following the break-in of a Urraween home just after midnight (February 10). Police received reports from the public about a vehicle allegedly being driven erratically on the Bruce Highway at Tiaro at around 2pm. Police attempted to intercept the vehicle on Pialba-Burrum Heads Road however the vehicle failed to stop and sped off. The vehicle was located in Dundowran Beach around 2.20pm, crashed into a ditch, with the two male occupants fleeing on foot. ....

Paul Karlish was fast asleep after a hard day s work when his neighbour ran to the front of his house with garden hoses yelling your truck s on fire! You could see the mulch on passenger side in about the middle of the trailer was all up in flames, Mr Karlish said. I ran out, unhooked the trailer and pulled the truck forward while my wife and neighbours got garden hoses and I grabbed a fire extinguisher. ....

Premium Content Subscriber only Fire crews were tasked to help distinguish a flaming hay bale on the back of a semi trailer after midnight on Thursday. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to Ibis Blvd at Eli Waters at 12.45am. A spokeswoman said as fireys arrived there were “multiple pockets of fire in the hay bale”. They were deployed with breathing apparatus. She said crews had to put the flames out by pulling apart the hay, as it is the most efficient way. Crews were still dampening down hot spots on the road at just past 4 o’clock this morning and left at 4.45am. ....
