The City of Calgary is putting its TV and film production centre up for sale.
Patricia McLeod, board chair for the Calgary Film Centre, said they have already fielded inquiries from interested parties from the private sector about the centre. The success of the local industry, combined with recent changes the provincial government made to incentives to lure productions to Alberta, makes it the right time to explore a sale, she said.

Built five years ago, it has been operated by Calgary Economic Development ever since. In September 2018, the city purchased the film centre for $13.5 million from Calgary Economic Development, which is a city subsidiary, to pay down its debt and offer more flexible rates to compete with other facilities within the city and other jurisdictions in North America.
