The co-founder of an independent music festival said she broke down in tears after being forced to cancel the event due to the delay in ending lockdown.
The Black Deer Festival was due to take place at Eridge Park in Kent from June 25-27.
However, organisers Gill Tee, 65, and Debs Shilling, 55, were forced to axe the event after Boris Johnson confirmed England’s lockdown would not end on June 21.
It was extended by at least four weeks over fears of Covid-19 variants.
Ms Tee, a former events organiser, told the PA news agency she was devastated when she heard the news. ....

A music festival will go ahead this summer - albeit a week late - following the gradual lifting of Covid restrictions.
The Black Deer Festival in Eridge Park, Tunbridge Wells, is now scheduled for June 25 to 27.

This means it begins four days after the last stage of the easing of restrictions, when major events can go ahead and life is set to return to something resembling normality.
The 2021 American and country music festival was originally booked for June 18 to 20. ....

Events organisers finally have a reason to pop the cork, following yesterday s revelation that we could be enjoying large outdoor events once again this summer.
The Prime Minister set out four steps including the reopening of pubs and restaurants and meeting with family members indoors - situations that were impossible as coronavirus tightened its grip on Kent s communities.
But his final step is arguably the most significant of all - the return of large-scale events.
The roadmap has highlighted the cautiously optimistic date of June 21 for music concerts, nightclubs and other events to restart, sending a wave of relief - and surprise - across an industry that has been on its knees for almost 12 months. ....
