Set in the 1980s, The Goldbergs based on creator Adam F Goldberg’s childhood experiences with his family.
Goldberg stepped down after season six and writer-producers Chris Bishop and Alex Barnow were named showrunners heading into season seven and the current eighth season.
Sad: On March 23, the series was struck with a tragic loss when co-star George Segal passed away at 87 years of age after complications from bypass surgery
The Goldbergs paid tribute to Segal on April 7 s episode, which was his last.

Wawa is stepping back into the 80âs for a week-long celebration of its 57th anniversary â which begins Friday, April 16.
For the âLook Back, Give Back, and Throwbackâ Wawa Week â April 16 through April 23 â Wawa will feature a tie-in with the 80âs themed comedy, âThe Goldbergs,â which airs on ABC on Wednesday nights.Â
The week-long celebration will also commemorate the seventh anniversary of the convenience chainâs Wawa Foundation.
