(seminoles.com) – Florida State’s Beatrice Wallin, the 2021 ACC Golfer of the Year, has been named as one of 10 finalists for the ANNIKA Award which is presented to the Division I Women’s Golfer of the Year. Wallin will lead the Seminoles into the NCAA National Championship Finals (May 21-26) after helping them to the championship of the NCAA Louisville Regional earlier this week. The regional championship win for the Seminoles is the first in school history. Wallin is the second Seminole to be named as a finalist for the ANNIKA, which was created in 2014 and quickly became the most prestigious award in college golf. The Gamecocks got birdies from four of their five players, while Pauline Roussin-Bouchard, the SEC Player of the Year and No. 1 ranked golfer in the country, eagled the hole to end the Razorbacks’ 2020-21 season. NORMAN, Okla. - Sophomore Emma Spitz will represent the International squad in the 2021 Arnold Palmer Cup, as announced on Tuesday. The match-play competition will be held at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. from June 11-13. Spitz, a native of Vienna, Austria, is currently ranked 16th in the Women s Amateur Golf Ranking. She leads the Bruins in scoring average this season at 72.2, having finished in the Top 10 in six of her seven tournaments. Of her 20 rounds, 11 have been under par, including three in the 60s. Spitz posted back-to-back, season-low rounds of 3-under 68 to open the Pac-12 Championships (April 23-25), where she tied for 10th (+1, 214). She was second at the Sun Devil Winter Classic (Feb. 15-17, -6, 210), producing three under-par rounds, including an opening, 3-under 69.
