Carlisle Youth Zone celebrated its 10th birthday this year and is looking to increase the number of businesses that support the service. The Youth Zone has worked with children across the city for the past decade, helping to provide a safe space for them to meet. The centre particularly aims to work with deprived children, providing them with a wide range of activities and experiences six nights a week. Carlisle Youth Zone celebrated its 10th birthday in April after being set up in 2011 when a founder group of business people including David Allen, Andrew Tinkler, William Stobbart and Brian Scowcroft came together to try and get a place for the young people of Carlisle to be able to meet. ....
CARLISLE Youth Zone has received a charitable donation from a housing firm. The popular youth zone has been given £300 by Taylor Wimpey in a show of support for the local community. Emma Rogerson, development coordinator for Carlisle Youth Zone, said: “Since Covid, we have had to find new ways to stay safe and meet the needs of thousands of children. We have been running a lot of activities such as virtual cooking and art sessions, delivering food parcels and have also set up a 24/7 contact line for all children and young people who feel lonely and afraid during this time. ....
