People with glaucoma have struggled to access their healthcare treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic, putting them at risk of vision loss and blindness, according to results of a new European survey of 2,010 adults with glaucoma, including 250 UK respondents. Glaucoma is an eye condition that affects about two per cent of the population over 40 in the UK ....

The director of a Canberra childcare centre accused of defrauding the business of as much as $500,000 has been refused bail.

Parkside School at Cullingworth supports those in need

Staff and students at Parkside donated goods and put together nine hampers.
Four of the hampers contained a full weekly shop of staple items such as rice, pasta, cereal, biscuits, fruit juice, tins of beans, soup, tinned veg and toiletries – plus some luxury goods and selection boxes.
And five smaller hampers contained a similar range, but with more emphasis on luxury goods.
The collection of items was organised by Emma Morton, head of year 11 at the school – where there are just over 1,000 students.
She was delighted with the response from everyone across the school.
“We were very impressed by the generosity of our staff and students,” she said. ....
