There are currently 51 active cases in the region. 29 active cases are in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub, 18 active cases are in the Kenora Health Hub, three active cases in the Fort Frances Health Hub and one active case is in the Emo Health Hub. Follow-ups with those involved and their contacts have started, and anyone identified as a contact for these cases will be reached directly by public health staff. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms or who has been in contact with a positive case of the virus is asked to immediately self-isolate, get tested and remain in isolation until your test results are known. ....
The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting 11 new COVID positives today. There are three each in the Kenora and Emo Health Hubs. The Dryden and Fort Frances areas both have two. There is one new case in the Red Lake region. The health unit is confirming it is investigating a case situation at the Evolution Mine site but is unable to provide additional detail at this time. There are now 68 active cases in the Health Hubs: 24 Kenora, 16 Sioux Lookout (7 in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout), 14 Emo, 9 Fort Frances, 3 Red Lake, 2 Dryden Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon says the high numbers in Kenora partially relates to a social group that has been interacting for a fair bit. ....
