The double blow of injury and retirement, coupled with a Covid-enforced extended period on the road, has smashed the Vixensâ hopes of defending their 2020 title and left them languishing at the bottom of the ladder halfway through the season. Melbourneâs insipid loss to Victorian rivals Collingwood Magpies in a derby played in Sydney last weekend left coach Simone McKinnis searching for positives.
