The Travel Corporation seeks carbon neutrality by 2030

As members of the global travel industry, the Travel Corporation (TTC) has said it recognises its role and responsibility in creating greenhouse gas emissions through its trips and operations.
The need for both travellers and businesses to take action to address emissions and climate change becomes clearer and more urgent every day.
And so, in celebration of Earth Day 2021, TTC and its family of brands are announcing a five-step Climate Action Plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
To further support the transition to a low-carbon future, TTC and its TreadRight Foundation are investing in two nature-based carbon removal solutions, Project Vesta and GreenWave. ....

Contiki marks Earth Day with 100% carbon neutral pledge

“Unavoidable” emissions will be offset by partnering with offset provider South Pole investing in carbon credits from a combination of three carbon offset projects in Australia, Thailand and the US.
All Contiki trips from January 1, 2022 will be carbon neutral, with the offset costs covered by the company.
Chief executive Adam Armstrong said: “Carbon removal and carbon capture technologies are deeply promising.
“It’s important to us that we support the science developing around every possible solution, in addition to reducing our emissions and purchasing verified carbon offsets.
“It’s equally exciting to have Tasha on board to lead this for us, the next phase of Contiki Cares. ....

How The Travel Corporation is tackling sustainability in 2020 and beyond

One key component of the strategy is the launch of Make Travel Matter (MTM) Experiences. In its concept, MTM Experiences are conscious travel options which take into consideration the social or environmental impact of a trip.
MTM Experiences are identified by a robust set of criteria directly linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and use a unique proprietary online assessment to ensure these goals are being met. TTC customers can spot which brands use the MTM schemes online by keeping an eye out for the MTM seal.
“Make Travel Matter Experiences have already impacted what we are prioritising in travel,” says Guihan. “The industry is realising that if we want the travel experience to be maintained - if we want our communities to be healthy and safe, if we want our children to be healthy and safe - then prioritising a sustainable, regenerative recovery is simply what we need to do.” ....
