“To our overseas Filipino workers in Myanmar, please remain calm and always be careful. Always take into consideration your personal safety. Just focus on your work and avoid places or groups that might endanger your stay and your personal safety,” Santos said over Radio Veritas.
The prelate reminded the Filipinos in Myanmar that in times of violence and tragedy, prayer is the best weapon for the restoration of peace and unity.

“May he take good care, with charity and compassion, the plight of migrant families, our dear seafarers,” Bishop Ruperto Santos, vice chairman of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Itinerant People, said in a statement Friday.
“With this year proclaimed by our Holy Father as the year of Saint Joseph, the US president will be the protector and guardian of the family, regardless of colour, customs, and creed,” he added.
The Balanga, Bataan prelate said they are also praying that Biden, being a Catholic, will pursue the teachings of “respect and protection of life, responsible stewardship of the earth, and promotion of peace.”
