DANBURY As some towns start to consider winding down COVID-19 vaccine clinics, Danbury is adding new clinic locations and expanding outreach.
The Connecticut Institute for Communities, which has focused on vaccinating Danbury’s most socially vulnerable residents, opened a new, larger vaccine clinic Tuesday. The clinic will run five days a week during regular business hours. ....

Kenai lawmaker proposes to forbid businesses, local governments and state of Alaska from requiring COVID-19 vaccinations

JUNEAU Rep. Ben Carpenter, R-Nikiski, has proposed new legislation that would forbid businesses, local governments and the state from requiring COVID-19 vaccines.
If House Bill 175 becomes law, businesses could not require employees to be vaccinated, and unvaccinated people could not be forbidden from accessing “an area or service that is open to the public.”
Similar ideas have been approved by Texas, Missouri, Florida and several other states with Republican-controlled legislatures. Surveys indicate that Republicans are much more reluctant to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Carpenter’s bill was introduced Wednesday, after Bering Straits Native Corp. the parent company of Alaska Industrial Hardware said it would require all 2,100 employees to be vaccinated. Some small cruise lines operating in Alaska also require their employees to be vaccinated. ....

BETHEL - A village in Alaska has mandated that only fully vaccinated people will be allowed into the community’s stores and businesses.
Kongiganak had 50% of its eligible residents vaccinated with at least one dose as of April 9, KYUK-AM reported, citing the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corp.
Sheila Phillip, the Kongiganak Traditional Council secretary, said people who are fully vaccinated can go inside the village’s two stores if they wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
People not fully vaccinated “can still make phone orders and their orders are delivered to their home,” Phillip said.
The general manager for Qemirtalek Coast Corp., Harvey Paul, said his village store allows four people inside. ....

BETHEL, Alaska (AP) A village in Alaska has mandated that only fully vaccinated people will be allowed into the community s stores and businesses.
Kongiganak had 50% of its eligible residents vaccinated with at least one dose as of April 9, KYUK-AM reported Wednesday, citing the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation.
Kongiganak reported that it had a population of 439 people in the 2010 U.S. Census.
Sheila Phillip, the Kongiganak Traditional Council secretary, said that people who are fully vaccinated can go inside the village s two stores if they wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines. ....
