WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Two men are facing a series of charges after they attempted to flee from law enforcement Wednesday afternoon near Echo Farms, according to the New Hanover County Sheriffâs Office.
Lt. Jerry Brewer said that the sheriffâs office had received word that Adam Michael Clodfelter, who had more than a dozen outstanding warrants out of Randolph County, may be in the area.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The YMCA announced Monday that it will open the city pools at Legion Stadium and Robert Strange Park, and the county pool at Echo Farms on Saturday, May 29.
Admission is just $3/adult and $1/child and all pool users are asked to come swim ready. Outdoor showers will be used to rinse off on the pool deck before entering the water.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - In a news release, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation says Bart Anthony Coniglio forcibly entered a family memberâs home in the 4500 block of Barnards Landing Road in Wilmington, North Carolina at around 12:42 p.m. Wednesday.
The family member and a friend left the home and ran to a nearby neighborâs home that happened to be the residence of a New Hanover County Sheriffâs Office deputy, who was off-duty at the time.

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - A neighborhood retail center is coming to a fast-growing area of Wilmington, bringing shops, restaurants, and a massive Harris Teeter closer to thousands of consumers.
Work on the Crossroads at Independence, located at the corner of Independence Boulevard and Carolina Beach Road, started in November and is expected to finish by April of next year.
The center will be less than two miles from the 1,400-acre Riverlights community, which has 600 homes already and plans for 2,000 more. Itâs also next to the redeveloped Echo Farms and right down the road from the Pointe at Barclay.
