December virtual town hall follow-up Dear faculty and staff, On Dec. 11, as we wrapped up this fall semester unlike any other, we hosted more than 800 faculty and staff in our last virtual town hall of 2020. If you missed this live event, a recording of the session is available. These town halls are extremely important, providing an opportunity to come together as a community to discuss and reflect on matters impacting all of us. While these town halls were held this fall in lieu of our annual fall K-State 2025 college and unit visits, we are committed to continuing them throughout the spring semester. ....
HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to a parish priest who “touched the lives of many” before losing his battle with cancer. Father Paul Joyce “gave himself to so many” - including care homes, nearby schools, and those in need - with his “wish to serve and be there for others”, his church said. Father Paul - who leaves behind two children and his wife Sue - moved from Birmingham to Eastwood with his family in 2005, and was inducted at St David’s Church in July 7 that year. During his 15 years at the church, Father Paul achieved many goals, one of which was to open a community cafe which would see the church opening its hall for two hours every Thursday morning to provide a place where anybody could sit, relax and chat whilst enjoying a free drink and snack. ....
