A teacher has come out of the fire well done after her first year of teaching Foods at Grande Prairie Composite High School.
Kaitlyn Frost was nominated by the Grande Prairie Public School Division Trustees for the Edwin Parr Award for excellence in first-year teaching.

As Calgary junior and senior high students prepare for another pivot to online school, education leaders in Edmonton are questioning whether they should do the same.

Edmonton school leaders are considering whether the rise in COVID-19 cases should prompt them to request older students return to online classes for the second time this school year. In late November, Grade 7-12 students moved to online learning for the rest of 2020.(David Bajer/CBC) ....

Former Edmonton MLA, school trustee dies from cancer


She died on Friday, only three weeks after receiving her cancer diagnosis.
Sarich, who was 62, served as the Progressive Conservative MLA for Edmonton-Decore from 2008 to 2015.
Before getting into provincial politics she was a trustee for the Edmonton Catholic School Board.
Edmonton Catholic Schools is saddened to hear of the passing of former #ECSD trustee Janice Sarich. She served two terms with our Division beginning in 2001. She was passionate about Catholic Education and committed to our students and staff. May she rest in peace. pic.twitter.com/z20txzfKi7

Sarich first entered politics in 2001 when she ran for a trustee seat with the Edmonton Catholic School District. She was elected for two terms before running for the PCs in the 2008 provincial election in the riding of Edmonton-Decore. She was appointed to cabinet by former premier Ed Stelmach with the role as parliamentary assistant to then education minister Dave Hancock and served in that position until 2011. ....
