Fresh questions raised about collapse of Halton s bus company New questions have been asked about the collapse of one of Britain’s last municipal bus companies after further details emerged about the firm’s last days. Halton Borough Transport (HBT) went into liquidation last January with debts of more than £2m just a month after its accountants had signed the company off as a “going concern”, expected to last at least another year. Now, documents finally released under the Freedom of Information Act have prompted further questions about how the company came to be given a clean bill of health by its accountants. ....

Founded in 1928, NAM provides planning-oriented wealth management, trust services and a range of investment offerings, including individual security portfolios, to ultra-high net worth individuals, families, endowments/foundations, and business owners nationwide. The acquisition will bring a team of 20 individuals, including nine financial advisers, to Wealth Enhancement Group. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. HUNDREDS of children of key workers were unable to go to school on Tuesday after dozens of schools were forced to implement full closures because of the last-minute lockdown announcement. In his speech to the nation at 8pm on Monday, Mr Johnson told the public: Primary schools, secondary schools and colleges across England must move to remote provision from tomorrow, except for vulnerable children and the children of key workers. However, for many key workers, this was not the case on Tuesday, as some schools were forced to close completely to prepare. With just hours’ notice, headteachers were forced to make plans late on Monday evening, with many having no choice but to close the school fully the following day. ....
