Delta Approves Bursary Payment For Students

The Delta State Government has approved the release of funds for the payment of the 2019/2020 Students’ Special Assistance Scheme, otherwise known as bursary, for students of the state origin in tertiary institutions across the country.
Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, who disclosed this in a statement, yesterday, in Asaba, said the payment would commence before the end of the week.
He said the continuous payment of the bursary to Delta State students despite the economic hardship in the country was a demonstration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s commitment to human capital development of the state.
Aniagwu further urged Delta students to take advantage of the bursary payment to improve on their studies and continue to be good ambassadors of the state wherever they are studying. ....

The staff also accused the MD of casualization of staff, non payment of two months salary amongst others.
They called on the Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission to investigate the matter.
But Mrs. Edugie Agbonlahor had denied the allegations, saying that the crisis was as a result of staff that were sanctioned for running their private transport line..

ECTS staff calls for sack of MD Over alleged non-remittance of pension

Commuters were yesterday stranded for hours following the non availability of the Edo City Transport Service, (ECTS), as staff loaded themselves into the company’s buses and drove off to the Government House to protest what they tagged unfair treatment meted on them by its management.
Speaking with newsmen at the company’s premises at Ramat Park, Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, leader of the group, Mr. Abudu Briamah, alleged that the Managing Director of the company, Mrs. Edugie Agbonlahor has refused to remit their contributing pension funds to the appropriate quota saying that they may not know what the future holds for them on retirement. ....
