A high-level Egyptian-Russian delegation last week paid a working visit to the construction site of the El Dabaa nuclear power plant. The delegation on 15 July was led by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy of Egypt Mohamed Shaker and Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachov. It followed Rosatom s announcement on 1 July that the Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA) of Egypt has applied to the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority for a construction permit for units 1 and 2 of what will be Egypt s first nuclear power plant. Rosatom said that once the permit has been granted full-scale construction work will start. ....

NCCP signs contract for latest batch of nuclear fuel components for ETRR-2 reactor in Egypt
MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant (NCCP, a TVEL subsidiary) and the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority (EAEA) have signed contract documents for the delivery to Egypt in 2021 of the latest batch of components for reduced-enrichment nuclear fuel, TVEL said in a statement.
Supplies are being delivered under a long-term framework contract from 2020 for the export to Egypt of nuclear fuel components for the ETRR-2 reactor. The product range includes uranium components, as well as aluminum alloy products and aluminum powder.
The first deliveries under this contract took place in 2020. Due to close and effective interaction between the customer and the supplier, the contractual obligations of the Russian side were fulfilled in full, despite Covid-19 restrictions, the statement said. ....
