Print A newly remodeled Museum of Making Music is slated to open to the public June 15 with the unveiling of four new galleries featuring innovative storytelling about musical instruments, their history and cultural impact. The galleries each have a theme, ranging from “Making the Instruments,” “Providing the Instruments” and “Using the Instruments” to “Beyond the Instruments.” The exhibits include multimedia displays with video stories, photographs, performance clips and interviews from instrument creators, artists and industry innovators. The Museum of Making Music first opened its doors in March 2000 to mark the centennial of the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) and to show the historical context of making music. Since then, the Carlsbad museum has drawn thousands of local and international visitors. ....
