22 States Join Lawsuit Urging Federal Court to Rule Against California’s Large-Capacity Gun Magazine Ban A coalition of 22 states led by Republican attorneys general called on the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to rule against California’s attempt to ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. “California politicians are at it again, convinced that their agendas should override the Constitutional rights of the people,” said Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, a Republican, in a statement, filing an amicus brief in the case. He added, “Attempts to undermine the Second Amendment or any of our civil rights and liberties should be met with deep skepticism and vigorous opposition.” ....

Rafia Sultana Shareef, also known as Rafia Farook, pleaded guilty in March to a felony charge of destruction and mutilation of records central to a federal criminal investigation. Prosecutors had sought three years probation, three months home confinement and 112 hours of community service before she was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Jesus G. Bernal. Farook’s husband, Syed Raheel Farook, was previously sentenced to three years probation for participating in the same scheme that attempted to help Tatiana’s Russian-born sister gain permanent U.S. residency. ....
