Gula Tech Foundation, a nonprofit focused on awarding $1,000,000 in competitive grants to cybersecurity nonprofits several times each year, announced today, in conjunction with RSAC 2021, the winners of its Data Care themed competitive grant program. This competitive grant focuses on non-profits committed to broaden the cybersecurity industry to be more inclusive and increase personal responsibility for data.
The issue of Data Care is one of the many reasons we launched and founded The Gula Tech Foundation. Change-Ups: Kalaczinski named MOA’s Educator of the Year
Lillian Kalaczinski, an associate professor for Ferris State University’s Michigan College of Optometry, has been named the Michigan Optometric Association’s 2021 Educator of the Year. Kalaczinski is a 1998 MCO graduate following three years in the pre-optometry program at Ferris. Kalaczinski served as director of vision services at a Grand Rapids-area community health center before joining the MCO faculty in 2015. Kalaczinski also is chief of primary care services at the University Eye Center, and an adviser to registered student organizations unique to the college.

Rehmann won Clearlyrated’s Best of Accounting Diamond Award for providing superior service to its clients for at least five consecutive years. Rehmann received satisfaction scores of 9 or 10 from 82% of its clients, significantly higher than the industry’s average of 43% in 2020. ....

CIAS building risk management tools for state, local agencies -- GCN

To keep pace with growing cybersecurity threats, governments must first be able to identify, categorize and prioritize their high-value IT assets, the loss or corruption of which would seriously impact their ability to deliver on essential missions.
Thanks to a $1.2 million grant from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS) is launching a two-year pilot program to help state, local, tribal and territorial (SLTT) governments better protect themselves against cyberattacks and align their practices with those of the federal government.
CIAS will deliver scalable guidelines, forms, templates, diagrams and tools to support program management, information sharing and best practices that communities can use with their own risk management framework, available resources and authorities.
