Indian Railways in a bid to provide a boost to tourism and also better connectivity will launch a direct train service from Ahmedabad to Kevadiya today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural run today of the Ahmedabad-Kevadiya Jan Shatabdi Special Express. The train comprises of Vistadome, AC chair car Executive Class, AC chair car and Non-AC chair car coaches.

As the weekly special train connecting Kevadiya in Gujarat and Chennai flags off, tourists from Tamil Nadu are now only a train journey away from visiting the Statue of Unity, world s tallest statue in Gujarat.
Through video conferencing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated eight such trains which connected different parts of the country to Kevadiya, where Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel s statue is located.
